And so the job is mine. A good time for a happy dance.
Of course, this will create a minor money issue as I'll be working only for eight weeks, but I so don't care right now. :p
I guess all I need to do now is to turn down the other job I got. I'm going to be a coward and send e-mail. There's no way I'm phoning the boss. That is one seriously scary lady.
Teehee.
Dad made me smile today. About ten years ago, when I was really into Backstreet Boys and Rasmus (note that there wasn't any stupid definite articles back then), he used to clip out all the newspaper articles about these bands (and eventually pretty much about all bands) when ever he found them. He also used to inform me if he noticed they were on telly. This all stopped years ago, and then tonight came a text message: "Bloodpit on channel two right now."
:D
Of course, Bloodpit's very topical right now, because last Saturday me and dad talked about the translation work (I guess you could call it that) I do for the band and how I was going to see the gig the same evening. I still find this extremely cute. :)
I almost didn't have the heart to tell him that I was aware of the TV appearance and was taping it because I was watching Cold Case on MTV3 at the same time. Told him anyway. And a short conversation about the interview thingie followed.
The point of this whole ramble is that dad is cool.
It's now secret he's more up-to-date about most things than me or Milla. Skype, anyone?
Apart from watching telly, I've been so lazy today. I haven't got anything done. I was going to work on two essays, write some comments about Marika's media culture essay and first and foremost, unpack my bags. Did I do any of that? No. Instead I spent what felt like an endless amount of time looking for a new spring coat (I'm still walking around in my winter one). I guess I'm not meant to have one since there was neevr the right size or colour. Grah.
What I did manage to do today, however, is to open the new sbp.net. It's still loaded with little errors and code bugs but whatever. It seems to function at least somewhat correctly now and that means I can always correct the little errors later on. So yay. I decided to be sneaky and change my title back to "graphic designer" again because although the design isn't exactly mine this year nor did I do the shirt, I did modify the layout quite a bit and apparently am also responsible for the backstage passes and poster(!). I have no idea how I'm going to pull the poster off, though. We'll see.

Some weeks ago I was looking something from the back end of our fridge and found this mysterious goo (how lovely). Me and Krista decided that we'd let the firdge melt over Easter and clean it thoroughly then.
I just came back to JNS and have now actually done the deed.
So. Disgusting.
I can't believe we've actually kept our food in there. Absolutely appalling.
In other news, it's about 97% certain that I'll get this summer job where I would
a) have the whole of June off (my first proper summer holiday in six years) and
b) even have all the weekends off in July and August too and
c) actually do something that is challenging and
d) be doing something that is useful considering my future career options
o_O
I'll hear about it tomorrow. With my luck the magical three percent will step in and I won't get it, though. So I'm not celebrating just yet. Or maybe a little. Teehee. :D

Oh. My. God.
"Back in the 80's, the Finnish group Armi & Danny created the greatest music video that has ever been, or ever will be!"
Bet they got that right. Not to mention the wonderful English translation of the lyrics.
I am speechless.
It's a must see.

It was Marsu's birthday yesterday. She'd baked pulla and they were lovely --> I ate about a bazillion of them. Not to mention all the other food I managed to devour.. Hmh. But it was a nice party, very laidback. Of course, I was ready to go to sleep since 10pm. However, I stayed there until 11.30, of which I am proud.
I didn't have a clue what to give her, and Samu said I could participate in their gift. For some reason I didn't do that (it was a good gift, though) but ended up buying a rather big bag of pistachio nuts. They're the only thing I know she really likes that I could afford.
We're going through Jaana's media culture project today and I still haven't read all of it :| It's an interesting topic and everything, but I just haven't been able to make myself do it.
I'm seriously lacking motivation to anything school related again anyway. For example, yesterday afternoon I was planning to write my for the course on the history of Finnish popular music because I have all the material already, I just need to write it. And what did I do? Watched the original Batman movie and ate cookies with Samu.
It was a blast, though. It must be at least seven years since I last saw the film. It is just so cool! Teehee :) Of course, the shark ("Hand down the shark repellent Bat-spray!") and bomb scenes are absolute classics, but the deduction scenes are amazing, too. Such as...
Commissioner Gordon: It could be any one of them... But which one? Which ones?
Batman: Pretty *fishy* what happened to me on that ladder...
Commissioner Gordon: You mean where there's a fish there could be a penguin?
Robin: But wait! It happened at sea... Sea. C for Catwoman!
Batman: Yet, an exploding shark *was* pulling my leg...
Commissioner Gordon: The Joker!
Chief O'Hara: All adds up to a sinister riddle... Riddle-R. Riddler!
Commissioner Gordon: A thought strikes me... So dreadful I scarcely dare give it utterance...
Batman: The four of them... Their forces combined...
Robin: Holy nightmare!
...and...
Batman: [reading a riddle] What has yellow skin and writes?
Robin: A ball-point banana!
Batman: [reads the second riddle] What people are always in a hurry?
Robin: Rushing people... Russians!
Batman: So this means...
Robin: Someone Russian is going to slip on a banana and break their neck!
Batman: Precisely, Robin!
...and...
Chief O'Hara: [reading a riddle] What does a turkey do when he flies upside down?
Robin: He gobbles up!
Chief O'Hara: Of course.
Batman: And, number two...
Commissioner Gordon: [reads the second riddle] What weighs six ounces, sits in a tree and is very dangerous?
Robin: A sparrow with a machine gun!
Commissioner Gordon: Yes, of course.
...and...
Batman: [reading a skywritten message] What goes up white and comes down yellow and white?
Robin: An egg!
Batman: [reading another] How do you divide seventeen apples among sixteen people?
Robin: Make apple sauce!
Batman: Apples into applesauce - A unification into one smooth mixture. An egg - nature's perfect container. The container of all our hopes for the future.
Robin: A unification and a container of hope? United World Organization!
Batman: Precisely, Robin! And there's a special meeting of the Security Council today. If what I fear is true...
Robin: Wow! Let's commandeer a taxi!
Batman: No, Robin. Not at this time of day. Luckily, we're in tip-top condition. It'll be faster if we run. Let's go!
I think I could just quote the whole film.
"We must learn to swallow our super criminal pride!" :D
We also figured it'd be an ideal film for a drinking game. One sip every time Robin says "Holy *whatever*!" and two every time Batman gives us a moral teaching. How wonderful!

I had to stay at school until 8pm today and so I taped America's Next Top Model. Or so I thought. Apparently, something went wrong with the settings and now I don't have it taped after all. I could very well live with that, but of course I went to surf the episode guides to see what's happened (ie. who was eliminated and why) - and now I'm spoiled for the rest of the season. So annoying.

Wah! I had to turn off my firewall for a few minutes, and when I tried to turn it back on, it wouldn't work. Gasp! Temporary panic as a bunch of horrific scenarios rushed through my head (for instance, how I'd have install the whole thing again, har)! And then I solved it. Clickety-click.
Computer genius, that's me. Right.
But I have learnt my lesson: never again will I turn the darn firewall off unless I really, really need to. The state of panic was not long but it was enough.Hm.

It's so sunny and warm outside! I feel like going out. Then again, once you step out of the door, your shoes are soaked. Hence, staying in. I did go out for a walk in the morning when everything was still pretty mich frozen, so it's not like I haven't left the apartment at all today.
Noora came over yesterday and I started complaining to her about not having any creative hobbies. I then showed her some of the drawings I did four years ago and she thought I ought to continue with that. So last night I tried to draw about the only person I've ever made a decent portrait of, i.e. Elijah Wood. It wasn't good but it wasn't bad either. It's a sketch by someone who hasn't held a pencil for four years and definitely looks like one. But I found drawing was strangely relaxing so maybe I really ought to continue with that.
And for the record, the drawings I showed for Noora were the same LOTR ones I did when I was living and breathing FOTR: Frodo, Gimli and an Orc. I found them ona fan art site that had them stored. I wish I knew where the originals were, though. They were a lot prettier. Because they were rather big, I had to scan them in three different parts each. I think it's needless to point out how much they suffered from that.
I wish I was feeling a bit more creative in literary sense, because I really ought to be writing an essay. But no. I open Word and go "blagh". I'll let the essay rest a while and try again tomorrow.
So instead of writing, I've been making the new SBP website today. It's weird because two years ago I just did the graphics and someone else did the rest. Last year I did the graphics and everything else, too. This year someone else did the graphics and I'm just doing the technical stuff. Seems like a circle to me. Mind you, I've had to do quite a bit of modifying the graphics, too, so it's not like I can entirely skip taking the responsibility.
My head's been aching for two days. Bollocks.
